A few weeks ago I bought a new Ford F-150 and I wanted to move a lot things around with it. I have to say what I have on the truck is just a mess, all kinds of stuff piled together, you can see all those trash like stuff I don’t want, such as old shoes, useful or useless cables, phones, etc., some toys from years ago, a barely working exercise bike, etc. In the beginning I believed that I could pack them well, in the middle of stacking I was totally lost. When I was looking at the dump site, I was just amazed by myself, I actually did this! My mind was boggled but I knew I couldn’t drive with the trunk full of “garbage”, If I went on the road with the dumpster here were what would happen: either the stockpile fell apart on the road, may or may not hit someone else or cause accidents, or just like you would’ve guessed it, I would be spotted and stopped by patrol officers and probably got ticket even points.
I had at lease two options , I either could repack everything and tie them down or just hold the whole mess together with something, OK, even I start over I still will have to find something to secure the load, these choices actually mean one thing, I need some cargo control stuff for my pick up. Do I need heavy duty tie downs such as ten thousand pounds ratchet straps or grade 70 tie down chains? Definitely no. No heavy duty stuff needed here, what I need is something which can safe guard the stuff in the trunk.
At first I was totally lost because there so many tie downs, but when I narrow down my search to pick up truck I was able to find something useful, at first I found some 1” ratchet straps, camouflage ones, I liked these straps but they are too much in strength for me, even they were not too expensive, cam buckle straps were in the same shoes, all I could see was something too much in strength, too little in real world use, I don’t think the ratchet straps could improve my situation there, 1” straps weren’t helpful here. To be clear, these one inch straps are not good for huge pile of small stuff. Fortunately I found this darling cargo net , with the size 60”x84”(5′x7′) , which is a perfect match, just put the cargo net on top the pile then tie it down, you’re all set. With cargo nets come bungee cords , the bungee cords are just perfect for tying down cargo net, in fact the cargo net is made of interconnected bungee cords! In a nutshell, the small cargo nets and bungee cords are light duty tie downs made just for the purpose of holding together and tying down small but irregular loads such as the pickup truck mess in my case. And these nets and cords are perfect cargo control stuff for cars, small trucks and small vans, you will be able get good deals all over the place.
